Plan-b recognises that IT infrastructure changes continuously, this need not delay a Server Recovery Exercise. It is a common misconception that Plan-b creates recovery scripts specific to the state of the customer’s environment at a specific point in time. This is not the case. Plan-b has instead developed unique Recovery Methods specific to Operating System types. Given that disabling events can occur without warning, and they will not necessarily wait until after upgrades are complete, it is prudent to exercise Recovery of Servers without delay.  

Plan-b provides contingency arrangements for many multi-national organisations that have strict confidentiality and non-disclosure requirements. At all times we will have in place prudent and necessary security mechanisms to keep your information secure and in line with your security requirements.

Backup Applications which do feature in the Guide are those that Plan-b are familiar with and have practiced and documented server recovery methods for. Products that do not feature on the Guide to Backup Practice need to be rigorously tested by Plan-b to ensure that they have the appropriate features to deliver consistent, reliable and robust results.

Yes. Plan-b does not ask you to justify your reasons for Activating. Plan-b is always in an 'immediate state of readiness (24/7)' and will react to your Activation request 'in real time'. Usage charges apply should you Activate Plan-b. Usage charges serve to ensure Plan-b is not permanently under activation and therefore unable to react to real crisis events. Usage charges for Activation are generally 50% more than the cost of a scheduled Server Recovery Exercise.

In an actual Activation Plan-b would react 'in real time' to promptly recover your business operations. All required Plan-b resource will be dedicated entirely to the recovery of your business and any of Plan-b's regular daily activities will be set aside. This may mean various Server Recovery Specialists working together. Server Recovery notes from the Server Recovery Exercise will be referred to ensuring all irregular interventions are addressed promptly.

Yes. Plan-b will work with you to plan and action your drill and manage the budget for the activity. As we can plan resources to support your planned activation, costs will be less than for those in an emergency activation.

Plan-b's Online Tool (PlanNOW) is accessed via a secure web portal. You can access the data at any time you need it, from anywhere with an internet connection.

Plan-b's Online Tool (PlanNOW) contains a series of templates to help you formulate your own business continuity plan. After setting up your plan you can update and revise as your needs change.
